Shaangu Signed the First Global Hydrogen Energy Development and Utilization Demonstration Project

On March 18th, Shaangu successfully signed the He Steel Zhangxuan Hi-tech Hydrogen energy development and demonstration project, as the first global rich-H2 reduction demonstration project, which symbolizes Shaangu’s implementation of objectives for “Peak CO2 Emissions”, “CO2 Neutral” and a solid step forward clean energy field.

Currently, under the background of the “Decarbonization” from the traditional metallurgical process renovation to the reduction of carbon footprint and emissions, this has become the new developing trend. The hydrogen energy has gradually been the impetus of global energy renovation and reformation due to the low-carbon, higher calorific value, wide resources and higher reliability, which has become the crucial secondary energy in the reformulation of green lifecycle energy consumption structures. Under this trend, a new advanced technology which is cable of enhancing base material quality and reducing the pollution—hydrogen metallurgical technology is started to draw the attention. The replacement of carbon with hydrogen is the leading trend of low carbon development and energy reformation, which is considered as the crucial selection of more clean, low-carbon and higher efficient modern energy systems.

Due to the variable operating range, complicated gas composition, higher requirements are put forward for compressor material and stability. Therefore, Shaangu has taken great effort in material, safety and reliability of real gas compressor, in which the core part of compressor adopts the new alloy material, upgrades the process system and makes most optimized proposal for the hydrogen reduction process system to facilitate the long-term and reliable operation of the project.

Shaangu with energy gene over 50 years, has become the key provider for the process gas compressors in hydrogen-adding, dehydrogenization facilities. Shaangu has been continuously exploring the technology and proposals for the energy interconnection and high-efficient utilization, adhering to the enterprise mission of “Create Intelligent Green Energy for Human Civilization”. Shaangu has also carried out technical communication and collaboration with overseas experts and institutes, exploring and studying in hydrogen technology fields, such as “Hydrogen Reduction Ironmaking Technology”, “Fossil Energy Hydrogen Production Technology”, “Organic Chemical Hydrogen Storage Technology”, ”Tracking of Hydrogen Energy Comprehensive Utilization”. In June,2020, Shaangu established strategic cooperation with Rongcheng Group, Xi’an Hanhai Hydrogen, China Northwest Construction Institute in developing clean energy fields.

In the future, Shaangu will gather its superior resources and spare no efforts to provide optimal products and solutions for the hydrogen direct reduction process system of He Steel Zhangxuan High-Tech Hydrogen Energy Development and Utilization Demonstration Project, so as to help the transformation and upgrading of low-carbon green steel industry.
